Last residence at 501 23rd Street, Windber, with Theodore Catena. Died on 22 May 1973 in Windber Division of Memorial Hospital. Wake at Hugh W. Marron Funeral Home. Funeral Mass by Rev. Reginald Krakovsky, TOR, at SS. Cyril and Methodius' Catholic Church, Windber, since St. Anthony's was under construction. Interned at St. Anthony's Cemetery.
Carmela returned to Italy after Mauro died. In March-April 2001, Tena met her again in Rionero in Vulture.
